The “Tomorrow, After All”, film version will be finished shortly and we are seeking venues or dance-on-screen festivals for future viewing. This dance work was premiered in May 2025 as co-creative collaboration with dance artists of the SKH Stockholm University of the Arts Dance performance. This was made with film makers Måns Heldin and Luciano Quinteros, and costumes by Clara Birnbaum-Panzerhielm. It’s a landscape work, and cinematic dance experiment with referencing film techniques of planned sequences for Wide Shots, and composition of distance and time.

TRIBUTE

April Hickox

It is with pure gratitude for having shared precious time in a life that I wish to honour my dearest friend and early art-mentor April Hickox who died on 15.08.2025, peacefully surrounded by family and beloved friends in her Toronto Island home.

To read about her work further: April Hickox
From her faculty at OCAD: April Hickox 2025 OCAD

April had a profound impact on my early work as a choreographer in Toronto. She a photographer, who appreciated dance.I had so many questions around the body in art; how can dance and visual arts/performance art meld? Must a body be an object? How can dance inhabit spaces other than stages? Can dance inhabit spaces where an audience is free to roam rather than be fixed in seats in the dark of a theatre? How can viewer come in closer and experience a shared space and therefore shared experience? How could I address time, and not theatrical time? In 1998, I had a wish to make a work with a visual artist, addressing themes of; “Women’s Work”, time and installation. April was key in encouraging me to “just start!”, to apply for support, articulate ideas in writing, and build a production with producer Mimi Beck of Danceworks. In 1999 I premièred Woollen in Toronto. Collaboration with Janet Morton, textile artist, performers and co-knitters Kate Alton, Julia Aplin and Carolyn Woods, Costume Caroline O’Brien, and music Music Erine Tollar.
Since that time our friendship grew, she was always supportive and critical of my work both as a dancer in Dancemakers, and as a choreographer. Her daughter Alexa Hickox, film maker has always been a part of this friendship and creative art-making relationship. She and I have future projects that we are working towards, following a connection we made 30 years ago.

Mentorship

Mentorship/Facilitation
It’s been an inspiring and nourishing adventure in facilitation with Canadian Dance Artist Kate Nankervis, who since the early spring has been studying closely my practices of hands-on work in Dynamic Expansion,™ as well as dance movement teaching practices. With thanks to the Canadian organization the “Dancer Transition and Resource Centre [DTRC]” who’s premise is to promote balance in profession dancers’ lives.
In our work together Kate’s integration of practices shared evolve into emergent forms for her own hands-on work and dance leadership whether choreographic, or group facilitation practices. She and I have also been working through work exchanges, working consciously in the current climate of arts sarcity to promote abuncance.

Dynamic Expansion™ Craniosacral-based

Private sessions in Dynamic Expansion™

Dynamic Expansion™ Craniosacral/Expanded Consciousness sessions have many benefits for wellness including: deeply easing stress, deep rest for the nervous system, increased vitality, unwinding of unwanted habits, and increased general well-being. Craniosacral also has many benefits for Health (active definition of health: as "not a state but a search for equilibrium") including; improving eyesight/vision, reduced acute pain, rehabilitation in the neural field, learning disabilities, gross and fine motor problems, developmental delays, headaches, tinnitus, TMJ syndrome, stress disorders, trauma and neurological conditions.

Craniosacral Dynamic Expansion™ is a hybrid practice which I developed incorporating 30 years of Craniosacral practices together with expanded consciousness, movement awareness and co-creative work with Nature. I work co-creatively with each client given one's individuality and needs. Please note that some themes and issues could find resolution in one session, some in three to four sessions and others over time.

Long-Distance Practice

I also practice long-distance sessions, done over audio calls, or video calls. I have received very positive feedback over the last decade, and one of the beautiful benefits of these sessions is I am able to offer continuity for my international clients or for those in Germany who do not reside in Berlin or with those that prefer to be in their private space for this one-to-one work. Please be in touch if this mode of working interests you.

I continue to develop and exchange this work with my regular clients who inspire me constantly, and I am open to welcoming new clients as my schedule permits.
