Shannon Cooney is a dancer, choreographer and dance educator in the field of contemporary dance. From her base in Berlin, Germany, she keeps strong links with Canada her native country while traveling with her work internationally.
Partnering her work in dance, she is a Craniosacral practitioner with a private practice in Berlin and a travelling practice.

Reclaiming Attention
February 8-26, 2021
Reclaiming Attention is a three week online guided study on the topic of resilience. Conversations with Senior Research Fellow Dr. Allyson Quinlan (Chelsea) and choreographer Shannon Cooney (Berlin) will serve as a catalyst for this residency. Sessions will include independent and collective practice to cultivate internal quiet, creative intention, and connection with nature.
Practioners include Shannon Cooney (Berlin), Jared Gradinger (Berlin), Ras Kagiso Mpala (Ottawa),
Dr. Allyson Quinlan (Chelsea), Tedd Robinson (Ottawa), Carmel Whittle (Ottawa) and Sigal Zouk (Berlin).
Participants will meet collectively via Zoom four days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) between 12-3 pm. Independent practice will be unscheduled and supported by a combination of guided audio sessions, field work (tasks/scores), and self-directed archiving
