Pleased to announce that in August Fluid Resilience will be on tour in various Canadian locations with various installations of the work.
Fluid Resilience is an artistic activist’s work, to bring love and care for the water we are via the water we consume. Inspired by Resilience Theory and Practice, attendance at a Water Circle with Josephine Mandomin’s Walter Walkers and danced with the fluid body movement practice I created and teach since 2009 called Dynamic Expansion. Our performance is an immersive installation, expanding the capacity to give agency to the fluid body and how it connects us to our inherent movement and our incredible capacity to sense one another and be moved by the fluid field.
August 12-15th, I am invited by colleague and close friend Senior Research Fellow Dr. Allyson Quinlan to install a video of the 2020 performance at the at the “Pathways to Sustainability: Social-ecological resilience and transformation across multiple scales” conference held in Montreal at McGill University downtown campus. She worked as a guide to Resilience Theory and Practice for part of the groundwork of our inquiry into the intersection of artistic and scientific research and approaches in the development of Fluid Resilience.
Pathways to Sustainability Montreal
This will be a wonderful opportunity to share the collaborative work done between Allyson and the artistic collaborators of this project with a field of science researchers and practitioners. As well as the video installation, I will lead a workshop to briefly introduce my practice of the fluid body in motion I call; Dynamic Expansion, working with the expanding field of crossover between art, and scientific practice. We have some Support from the Goethe Institute Montreal, which I am truly grateful for.

FUNDRAISERt to allow Fluid Resilience tour to thrive.
Thanking you in advance for considering to contribute to our Go Fund Me fundraiser to give support for the last needed aspects of this tour which are necessary and not covered by our funding sources.
We have the favourable opportunity to tour Fluid Resilience both live and in 2 different Video installation versions in August and September 2024.
So far we have financial support for artists’ fees, and accommodations from our fabulous hosts Ottawa Dance Directive as well and from the National Performance Network, Germany.
We committed to this tour with hopes that one of our many travel subsidies requests would come through. As none have, we have stretched and bent our numbers to make this tour still happen. We are doing a compromised low cardon footprint : traveling long haul via air travel, and short haul travels on Canadain soil via train.
What has occurred alongside all of this (which often is the case) is there have been wonderful adaptations and additions to the tour, including the 2 separate video installations, which are being created and edited by videographer Ben Mergelsberg, who also has shot footage of two of the versions of Fluid Resilience in 2020 and 2023. In addition, we were orinially planning perform outoors without technical support, but due to many factors, we now need to shift to the indoor version.
We have therefore had an increase in fees and material costs; some technical enhancements for our lighting designer’s installation, and sound editing costs.
There is a strong need for our Cultural Manager’s presence; he was the original co=producer of Fluid Resilience in 2020, and is comeing to act as outside eye support as well as connection and communication. We therefore need to fundraise one more flight and train return trip Berlin <-> Ottawa.
We will need to hire a local video artist in Ottawa to document and our performances, rent camera equipment and edit in post production fees.I have a wonderful invitation from Pathways to Sustainability, but no accommodation or travel fees budget for Montreal.
Go Fund Me fundraising is to cover these additional costs, which would allow us to thrive and it would be an investment into this work and it’s future, iterations, in other locations.

Practice:
Craniosacral/Expanded Consciousness sessions have many benefits for wellness including: deeply easing stress, deep rest for the nervous system, increased vitality, unwinding of unwanted habits, and increased general well-being. Craniosacral also has many benefits for Health (active definition of health: as "not a state but a search for equilibrium") including; improving eyesight/vision, reduced acute pain, rehabilitation in the neural field, learning disabilities, gross and fine motor problems, developmental delays, headaches, tinnitus, TMJ syndrome, stress disorders, trauma and neurological conditions.
Craniosacral Dynamic Expansion is a hybrid practice which I developed incorporating 25+ years of Craniosacral practices together with expanded consciousness, movement awareness and co-creative work with Nature. I work co-creatively with each client given one's individuality and needs. Please note that some themes and issues could find resolution in one session, some in three to four sessions and others over time.
Long-Distance Practice
I also practice long-distance sessions, done over audio calls, or video calls. I have received very positive feedback over the last decade, and one of the beautiful benefits of these sessions is I am able to offer continuity for my international clients or for those in Germany who do not reside in Berlin or with those that prefer to be in their private space for this one-to-one work. Please be in touch if this mode of working interests you.
I continue to develop and exchange this work with my regular clients who inspire me constantly, and I am open to welcoming new clients as my schedule permits.
